“ We had an amazing experience at The Leaf Restaurant in Traralgon. The food is so authentic and you can really tell the recipes come from their families and generations of cooking. It feels like proper home style Sri Lankan food. It is a family run business and you can really see how much love and effort they put into everything they do. The owners were incredibly welcoming and made us feel like family from the moment we walked in. The entrees were also so good and full of flavour. The jackfruit curry was so soft, creamy and absolutely delicious. We loved it. The iconic Sri Lankan chicken kottu was another standout, so tasty and perfectly done. We also tried the buffet, which had a great range of dishes, and every curry we tasted was delicious. The Sri Lankan iced coffee is so good and definitely a must try. Having Sri Lankan beers available just completed the whole experience. Highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back! ???????? ”

“ The Leaf Restaurant and Bar is the right place for anyone craving authentic and delicious Sri Lankan cuisine. We chose the buffet, and it was simply fantastic. The variety was incredible—they offered so many excellent, flavorful options that made it easy to try a little bit of everything. Every dish was fresh, expertly spiced, and clearly made with care. However, the highlight of the entire meal was, without a doubt, the dessert. Watalappan was absolutely amazing! Highly recommended—come hungry and save room for that incredible dessert! ”

“ I have been wanting to come here for months after finding out Traralgon was blessed with some more food diversity! My first time trying Sri Lankan cuisine and it has only got me more excited to visit the country one day :) We tried the pork kottu - a stir fry like dish made with roti which was one of our favourite dishes we tried! The tuna pan roll sort of tasted like a curry chiko roll (which I have no complaints about), the Lankan dawn fritters are served with coconut which I think slightly overpowered the fritter itself. Lamb curry was tender and had lots of flavour - but I was expecting more heat! And if you’ve saved room for dessert, the homemade ice cream and the yogurt are delicious!! Restaurant is whether accessible with collapsible ramp, staff are very accomodating and the service definitely topped our experience! Thank you! ”

“ Simply awesome food. Ordered rosted chicken kottu and seafood fried rice and ended up eating another kottu too. And wow mocktail . Deserts just speechless. Home made yummy ice cream with fruit and nuts. Watalappan and more. And lady chef was really nice Also the other girl who served us was really helpful and super nice. If you want to have a delicious foos with out stress just visit these guys. Awesome. ”

“ This family-owned Sri Lankan restaurant is a hidden gem! The food is bursting with authentic flavor, and the service is warm and welcoming. Their Saturday all-you-can-eat buffet is a must-try, great variety and amazing value. Opened just last year, but already feels like a local favorite. Highly recommend! ”

“ This was our third time dining at The Leaf, and once again, the food did not disappoint. Every visit has been a treat, and breakfast today was no exception! The kids both had pancakes—my son chose bacon, banana, and syrup, while my daughter went for berries and syrup. Both meals were cooked perfectly, with a beautiful texture, generous but sensible portions, and a lovely presentation. Big thumbs up from the kids! I ordered the Chili Sambol Eggs, which were absolutely to die for. The sauce was an explosion of flavour—bold, vibrant, and delicious. The Turkish bread was toasted just right with a gorgeous buttery finish. The eggs were slightly underdone in parts, with a bit of unset white, but since I like runny eggs, it didn’t bother me. Still, if the whites had been fully set and perhaps topped with a little garnish like microgreens or green herbs, it would’ve been a perfect 10/10. Portion size was perfect. The service was excellent as always—our waitress was attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome. The décor is stylish and inviting, with beautiful Sri Lankan-themed art and fancy touches like silky black tablecloths and green fabric napkins (so nice I almost didn’t want to wipe my fingers on them!). There was a strong scent of incense when we first arrived—quite noticeable—but it mellowed as we settled in and became part of the ambience. To top it off, we were handed a loyalty card as we left—10% off on the 5th visit, which we’ll definitely be taking advantage of. Highly recommend The Leaf for a consistently delicious and beautifully presented dining experience. ”
